During May 2026, Abigroup Leighton JV will carry out night work on the M7 Motorway at Rooty Hill to repair and reinstate a section of motorway embankment that has collapsed due to an earth slip in this location.
Crews will be working over 6-night shifts from 8pm to 5am on Sunday 17 May to Sunday 24 May 2026, excluding Friday, Saturday and Public Holidays (weather permitting).
The work area is just north of the Eastern Road Bridge on the M7 Motorway shoulder.
Traffic changes
Work is being carried out at night to minimise impact to motorists.
The M7 Motorway mainline will remain open and minimal delays are anticipated due to traffic changes.
Motorists travelling in the area are advised to observe signage and adhere to speed limits as changes to traffic will include a slow lane closure at night and speed reductions from approximately 1km approaching the Eastern Road Bridge at Rooty Hill.
