Westlink encourages customers travelling on the M7 Motorway during February to plan-ahead as ramp closures and detours will be in place for asphalt resurfacing and planned maintenance works on M7 exit and entry ramps at the Sunnyholt Road, Richmond Road and Cowpasture Road Interchanges.
To do the work safely, ramp closures will be in place from 9pm to 5am over 7 non-consecutive nights from Sunday 16 February 2025 to Monday 24 February 2025 (weather permitting).
M7 night work and ramp closures for resurfacing
Sunnyholt Road Interchange
- Sunday 16 February and Monday 17 February - M7 northbound exit ramp to Sunnyholt Road, closed.
Richmond Road Interchange
- Tuesday 18 February and Wednesday 19 February - M7 northbound exit ramp to Rooty Hill Road North, closed.
- Thursday 20 February - M7 southbound/westbound entry ramp from Richmond Road, closed.
Cowpasture Road Interchange, Middleton Grange
- Sunday 23 February and Monday 24 February - M7 northbound/eastbound entry ramp from Cowpasture Road, closed.
Traffic changes and Detours
All ramps will remain open during the day.
This work is being carried out at night for the safety of our workers and to minimise impact to the travelling public.
The M7 Motorway will remain open during work for northbound and southbound travel.
Overhead variable message signs and traffic control signs will alert motorists of all changes to traffic conditions.
Detours for motorists wishing to enter and exit the M7 Motorway will be in place.

Richmond Road Interchange - M7 northbound exit ramp to Rooty Hill Road North closed on Tuesday 18 February and Wednesday 19 February. Exit at Woodstock Avenue Interchange and detour via Rooty Hill Road North.
Richmond Road Interchange - M7 southbound/westbound entry ramp from Richmond Road closed on Thursday 20 February. Detour via Richmond Road or Rooty Hill Road North join the M7 Motorway at Woodstock Avenue Interchange.
Cowpasture Road Interchange - M7 northbound/eastbound entry ramp from Cowpasture Road closed on Sunday 23 February and Monday 24 February. Detour via Cowpasture Road and Elizabeth Drive to join the M7 Motorway at Wallgrove Road near Villiers Road entry.
