Westlink M7 is planning to undertake bushfire protection within the corridor of the Westlink M7 Motorway and Transport for NSW land at Baulkham Hills.
Westlink M7 takes its responsibility for the protection, management, and enhancement of the areas within the motorway corridor and its obligation to adhere to relevant legislation in relation to tree preservation and maintenance seriously.
Westlink M7 has gone through a process of working with an independent bushfire consultant to provide advice and recommendations about managing vegetation within the M7 corridor.
Based on these recommendations, Westlink M7 is carrying out planned maintenance and tree removal work to satisfy bushfire protection requirements on Westlink M7 land and on Transport for NSW land.
This work involves establishing asset protection clearance boundaries in three locations along the Westlink M7 alignment through tree removal and vegetation clearance.
This work aims to ensure the safety of local residents and property, and to help protect the health of the local environment.
A Minor Works Review of Environmental Factors (PDF 66MB) has been reviewed and approved by Transport for NSW through the M7 Westlink APZ Bushfire Management Minor Works Review of Environmental Factors.
