Westlink M7 is trialling a speed limit reduction strategy aimed at proactively increasing road safety and trip reliability for motorists on the eastbound approach to the M2 motorway, during the morning workday peak.

The Trial will use smart technology to proactively reduce speeds before congestion starts and aims to improve motorway traffic flow.

During the trial, variable message signs and variable speed limit signs will be used to alert motorists to the changed speed limit from 100km/h to 80km/h.

Road users are required to observe signs and adhere to the speed limit in place as variable speed sign limits are enforceable.

Westlink M7 thanks motorists for their understanding and co-operation during the Trial.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their journey and keep up to date with the latest traffic conditions via the LiveTraffic NSW website or call 132 701.
