Westlink M7 is delighted to continue its sponsorship of the ‘Cities Marathon' to be held on Sunday 26 July 2009.

Westlink M7 General Manager Rachel Johnson said all the team at Westlink are looking forward to hosting the event.

"The Westlink M7 shared pathway is the ideal venue for holding a successful marathon as it provides an uninterrupted 40 km dedicated shared path stretching from the M5 to Old Windsor Road," Ms Johnson said.

"I know from the runners' feedback that they value the safety, natural beauty and variety the course offers."

The Marathon will start at 7.00am from Ash Road Sports Field, Prestons and will travel along the Westlink M7 shared path until Rickard Road, Quakers Hill (turnaround point).  Participants will then head back exiting at the pedestrian and cycle underpass north of the main western railway line, Rooty Hill that leads back through Nurragingy Reserve to the finish line at Blacktown Olympic Park on Eastern Road, Rooty Hill.

This year a new event ‘Marathon Relay' has been added to the program.
