Westlink M7 Cities Marathon: Congratulations to all participants!

Westlink M7 congratulated all participants in this year's Westlink M7 Cities Marathonheld on Sunday 31 July.

"Completing a marathon is an outstanding achievement. Particular congratulations go to Alexander Matthews of North Sydney and Magda Karimali-Poulos of Caringbah, this year's male and female winners, who each won $6,000 courtesy of Westlink M7," said Jeff McCarthy, Westlink M7 Executive General Manager.

Westlink M7 also congratulates Brent Harris and Roger Haney, and Julie Howle and Melissa Selby, this year's male and female relay team winners, as well as local place getters Cameron Griffiths of Quakers Hill, Mary Sheehan of Blacktown, Andrew Heyden of Moorebank and Kellie-Ann Clapham of Casula.

The Westlink M7 Cities Marathon is internationally accredited by the International Association of Athletics Federation, and this year's event attracted over 400 competitors from across Australia, double the number from last year's event, with international participants from the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Kenya, New Zealand, India and the USA.

"Westlink M7 is pleased to partner with Blacktown, Liverpool and Fairfield City Councils in such a fantastic sporting event. We are proud to be a strong supporter of a range of initiatives that are aimed at adding to the quality of life and economic development in Western Sydney," said Mr McCarthy

"Events such as the Westlink M7 Cities Marathon showcase Western Sydney's reputation as a destination for great sporting and community events. Westlink M7 looks forward to continuing to host the event in years to come."
