Advice from St John Ambulance is:

• DO NOT wash, cut or suck the wound.
• DO NOT use a tourniquet
• DO apply a broad pressure bandage starting just above the fingers or toes and move up the limbs as far as possible. Apply the bandage tightly but without cutting the blood supply.
• DO note the time of the bite and when the bandage was applied
